carrying something I didn't choose

There's this thing nobody in my family talks about directly but everybody knows. My dad's side, they were deep in local government in Benue back in the day. Not small small, proper connected. And somehow the consequences of whatever was done in those years just keep showing up in our generation. Three cousins, genuinely brilliant, all hit some kind of wall in their late twenties. One of them got a scholarship to study in Canada and the visa was refused twice for no reason that made any sense. Same way, my aunt's business collapsed the week she finally paid off her shop. You start listing these things and you sound mad. You sound like one of those women on Facebook selling prayer oil. lol. Me I've started doing some reading and talking to a pastor at a small church in Brixton. Just trying to find a way out of something I never entered voluntarily. I don't even fully understand the shape of it yet. It is well
