Crisis Imoran

When someone reaches out at their hardest moment, they should land with someone trained for it.

Crisis Imorans are PorchTalk's higher-trained tier of responders. They carry verified training in active mental health support and are routed first to posts flagged Needs Support, so a person in crisis is met by someone equipped to hold the conversation safely.

Direct routing

You receive a push notification the moment a Needs Support post is approved, and an in-app badge on the Imoran tab so nothing slips.

A first response scaffold

Each crisis composer pre fills an editable four part response that surfaces helplines and steers the reply toward presence, validation, and continuity.

A distinct badge

Your responses carry a warm gold Crisis Imoran badge so the poster knows who they are speaking with at a glance, with no extra reading required.

What we ask of you

  • Completion of recognised crisis support training. Counsellor or volunteer crisis line training, Mental Health First Aid, or qualified counsellor or therapist credentials. If your training does not fit those categories, the form has an Other option for you to describe it.
  • A copy of your certificate, uploaded privately to our store. Only PorchTalk admins can see it.
  • A reference we can contact. Someone who can vouch for your training and your judgement.
  • A short statement on why this work matters to you, in your own words.

Every application is reviewed personally by a member of the PorchTalk team before approval. We will reach out to you and to your reference before granting the tier.
